Our Great leader Allama iqbal was born on 9 November 1877 in Siyalkot.

Allama Iqbal (علامہ اقبال), was a poet, philosopher, and politician, as well as an academic, barrister and scholar.

Along with his Urdu and Persian poetry, his Urdu and English lectures and letters have been very influential in cultural, social, religious and political disputes.

Iqbal was the first patron of the historical, political, religious, cultural journal of Muslims of British India. This journal played an important part in the Pakistan movement. The name of this journal is The Journal Tolu-e-Islam.

He always worked for the Muslims to make them travel in straight path.

Background :

• His grandparents were Kashmiris Pandits. Who were non-muslim and after they accepted Islam.
• Iqbal’s father, Sheikh Noor Muhammad (died 1930), was a tailor, not formally educated but a religious man.
• Iqbal’s mother Imam Bibi was a polite and humble woman who helped the poor and solved the problems of neighbours.
• She died on 9 November 1914 in Sialkot.
• Iqbal loved his mother, and on her death he expressed his feelings of pathos in a poetic form elegy.
• Iqbal was four years old when he was admitted to the masjid to learn the Quran Majeed.
• Iqbal married three times, in 1895 while studying Bachelor of Arts with Karim khan the daughter of physician Khan Bahadur Ata Muhammad Khan.
• Later Iqbal’s second marriage was with Sardar Begum mother of Javed Iqbal.
• His third marriage was with Mukhtar Begum in December 1914.
• Our great leader gave the concept of Pakistan.
• Allama Iqbal was great pet of the east.
• He wrote many books ,eg , Bang-e- Dara, Bal-e-Jibreel,Armagan-e-Hijaz.etc are his famous books.

Poetry of Allama Iqbal :

1. Jis din girega tere rukhsar par teri aankhon ka ye pani
   us din tujhe insaniyat maloom hogi bichadna kisko kehte hai ujadna isko kehte hai.

2. Ye jannat mubarak rahy zahidon ko

ke me apka samna chahta hun !!!

3. Ye aik sajda jisy tu girah samajta hai

Hazar sajdon se deta hai nijat admi ko.

Death :

Allama Iqbal was diet on 21st April 1938 in lahore.He had a health problem and he worked too much that’s why his

health became low and he died.

He is buried near Badshahi Mosque Lahore.
